The Sierra de Gredos is a mountain range in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula, located between Ávila, Cáceres, Madrid and Toledo. It has been declared a regional park. Its highest point is Pico Almanzor, at 2,592 meters.
The Gredos Regional Natural Park is one of the best places in Spain when it comes to do astrophotography. It´s high altitude and very dark night skies conditions are essencial for optimal setup performance. Specially to go very deep with dusty and dark nebula objects.

We shot from an little village called Hoyos del Espino-ÁVILA at 1475 m altitude with optimal night sky conditions for deep space imaging. Our observation site is in the high part of the village, where we shot from the backyard of a little mountain house called El Alamo.
